Celtics Receive Predators Foundation Grant

Today, Jack Waddey, GM of the Nashville Celtics, and Jeff McGruder, Director of the Junior division, attended the ceremony for the Grant Awards made by the Nashville Predators Foundation and received a check for $1400 as a grant to assist the Association with purchase of gear for the teams. This is a wonderful recognition of the good work that the Celtics do for our community; awards are based on benefits the recipient organization provide to the community, leadership and support of the youth of our community. Riverdale Results

Nashville Celtics 13u team played up in the 14u division at Riverdale Hoops Classic April 9-11.  There were 16 teams in the division, and the Celtics finished 1st in pool play.  The Celtics won their quarterfinal game against the Music City Lakers and lost a close semifinal game to the Antioch Ballaz resulting in a third place finish.  Coach Duke remarked that the team had a strong defensive in a low scoring semifinal game but  couldn’t generate enough offense to pull out the victory.  Although the team wanted to win it all and could have, it was beneficial to play up and get some good competition that will better prepare the team for this weekend when they go to the Real Deal in The Rock in Little Rock, Arkansas.
